About the Course
'Sonic Architects' looks at experimental sound and performance through the lens of traditional technique and theory. This 'beta' workshop provides an access point into sound study and performance. Students will learn the history of audio recording, engage with hardware and digital technology and explore dynamic listening experiences. Materials engaged include Analog compressors, digital synthesizers, works from John Cage, David Tudor, Esperanza Spalding, Elsa M’Bala & more sonic pioneers.

Tru is a first generation Belizean-American fusion artist born, raised and currently based in Leimert Park. His process utilizes sound, visual and performing arts to explore identity, belonging and human nature.
